Soccer Luncheon

Two of the moms do a luncheon in the armory behind the high school each game day to show our support for the team and to ensure the girls get a healthy lunch. We've done it the past three years, and now that MK is a Senior, this will be my last soccer luncheon. Yay!! (I can't help but freak out when it comes to feeding 36 people :) But now that it's over, wow, I'm so glad I was involved.

Per tradition, the girls also wear dresses or skirts on game days.
Elle soaked in the love from the girls fighting over
who was her favorite.
The menu: chicken salad croissants, spinach salad, fruit, and lemon ices.

So much fun to be with the team. They won their game that day 3-2, and swapped their #2 ranking to #1 in the region (must've been the TLC ;) Go Knights!

The kind of husband I got...

This was my Friday text asking me what I wanted for our dinner date ...
The next weekend on Saturday, I watched the BYU v. Utah game (which was NOT awesome in the second half... downright terrifying)... and Tonya and I were texting:

Then the next weekend, Rob took the todds grocery shopping while I stretched out with some pillows and watched the BYU v. Central Florida game. (His idea—I promise.)

Plus, he's the kids' favorite entertainment. (Pretty sure he's sacked out under that pillow pile. He can't resist snoozing face down on the carpet.)
And I love how he expounds on the scriptures. I'm a lucky girl.

Homecoming, 2011

I decided I'd go along to chaperone...
...or go to the General Relief Society broadcast :)
Kolby and Kenzie, too cute!
Day Date: Pinnacle's warehouse where she showed off her backwards half-court shot (after multiple tries), then got pushed around in a tire, then off to Progressive Power Tumbling where she did her first gainer and double front flip off a tramp into a foam pit.

Dinner at Alpine Country Club. Then dancing with her shoes off and snacks at Matt's.

Kolby's personality is as fun-loving as MK's, so there was no chance for a bummer date. On the way home, he turned his blinker on to swerve around some people in the road. She came in the door that night still laughing.

These work just fine, thankyouverymuch...

Who needs new cleats when you can just duct tape 'em?

5 Dollar Bet

Getty's football coach also coaches last year's region championship soccer team in Cy's league. Getty figured out when the two teams would play each other, and Coach bet Cy five bucks his team would whoop Cy's.

Guess what was in the envelope?

Forked

During a family barbeque at our house, we got notice that someone was about to ask MK to Homecoming. So when the doorbell rang, this crowd ran to answer it.

The kids ran around the dark front yard gathering the forks pitched into the lawn.
And there were plenty of helpers to decipher the riddle of who it was.
Lots of opinions and discussion.

MK's a little overwhelmed with all the "help" ;)
Then Cam got sad that he hadn't found many forks, so we two had our own mini fork hunt.

McKenzie answered him with a mini gumball machine and a pile of pennies. Getty came up with the note that read, "Use these pennies, and you will see, if you get to go to Homecoming with me..."

Sunday Night Out-takes

This is what Rob prefers we do on Sunday nights.
We were dressed for Evans' side family pictures but ran out of daylight.

...and MK's legs are a distraction (whoot-woot).
... and Mia was laughing and flipping her hair back a lot.

... and Cy was looking at Elle ... and then looking very surprised. Getty's looking a little dazed...

But we were all there in navy and not ones to shy away from the camera, so we took some anyway.
Better luck next time...

1st Ever Day of School

Cam was so excited, he screamed as we pulled up to the school his first day.
His teacher is known as "the Gingerbread Lady." She's sweet as candy.
I told Cam he'd get his own Momma Monday when he started school, so naturally he thought kindergarten, but what I meant was 1st grade. (I figure the younger kids get a lot more one-on-one time when the others are gone all day to school. Plus, adding Cam this year instead of next when MK will be gone to college[!], would lengthen the rotation from once in four weeks to once in five.)

Cam was heartbroken to have to wait another year, so I took him on a special "preview" Ma'ama Cama  Monday. After Family Night, we took off for Cabela's with two of his favorite cousins Emma and Avery and spent some time feeding the fish and touring the wildlife scenes.

Mega Monday

I thought I'd blog a typical Momma Monday here and there with each of the kids, for memory's sake. Tonight was "Mega Monday," (Getty's Monday night). He wanted me to watch some home videos the kids made on the computer, and then we headed to Wal-Mart so he could buy himself a couple of toys (a deck of magic cards and a 20 Questions game) with his money. He wanted a pack of gum (Orbit mint chip ice cream) for his treat, and then we went for a night swing in a pitch black park. We swung upside-down and looked at the stars, and then I swung too high and grazed my head on a branch. We swung until we were "married" (swinging simultaneously, "Hi, honey!") and played 20 questions on the way home. I love you, Gett!
These pics were taken while we made monsters in Mrs. D's classroom. Elle helped out, too, by being the class sweetie pie ;)

Labor Day

Breakfast with the Hughes and Nichols. All-you-can-eat french toast at Kneaders. I was in heaven. Then off to the "Blue Park," as we call it.
A little swing action.
A little soccer/wrestling action.

Some "Monkey in the Middle," (and MK wants me to clarify she's not touching Connor's bum) haha
More swinging

Planking
Climbing

MK pretending to be a mystical being with horns...
(That, or she's doing her hair :)
Dan's so bored he's about to cry it out, Rob's super delighted with his phone, and John is thinking, "It's a wonderful life" :)
Then, PVK (Parents v. Kids). You can run, but you can't hide.
Cam told me he was "an adult," so he did what he could for our side :)

You've got to blow this photo up to get the full import of Rob's facial expression. I about fell off my chair. Bahahahahaha
Here, John's sabotaging the Parents.

Parents always win. Always. Win. Always.
