Senior Fab Five

This is MK's favorite pic [below]

 Kim
Cara
Kaitlyn
Sara

Rob and I got a text from MK, who was babysitting our kids, at 9:10 p.m. Saturday night while we were at dinner with his family. It read, "Beware there are a lot of people at our house ha...." We rounded the corner and saw both sides of our street lined with cars. About 12:30, the last of them left. Kim said she'd counted 36 people, but that was before another 14 girls showed up. That's our all-time record. They all got cozy with the football team and watched a scary movie in our little front room.
Now Rob wants to finish the basement. Ha!

Getty's Girlfriends

Late one night, these cute girlies came over to serenade Getty, "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine..."
Getty was at a friend's house, so Rob recorded it for him.

Awesome. But...
Getty's my sunshine, got it? :)

Mia's breakfast sluff party

Mia's dance company went to the Shakespeare festival, which we opted out of this year (I was shocked and so pleased that Rob and I were able to say "no" to a great opportunity for our kids! So many great opportunities out there, you know :) So, she and some of her fellow dancers decided to sluff their empty dance class together. Mia served french toast, they watched "A Cinderella Story," and then got ready together for school.

This photo was taken just two seconds before I informed Mia that she would not be wearing boxers to school. Flip!
Next thing I knew, they were all in jeans and out the door. Phew.

Super Cy...

...is what we call Cy's Momma Monday.
I forgot I wanted to blog typical Momma Mondays here and there with each of the kids, for memory's sake. So, last night for Super Cy he was psyched to watch Monday Night Football, Ravens (his favorite team with Dennis Pitta) vs. Jaguars.

Not a great game for the Ravens :( We were all set to score in the last minute-and-a-half to come from behind and win the game... when Jaguars intercepted. Rats.

So, we popped some popcorn and played a couple games of UNO before heading to bed.

MMMmmm, I love this boy.

We're not horsin' around...

In behalf of the girls' soccer team (who were peeking behind the school wall watching the spectacle play out), Kim and Corrie rode a horse around the football field during practice with a balloon bouquet and banner that read, "We're not horsin' around, come to Sadie's with us!" Inside each balloon was the name of a soccer player and the football player she was asking out.
MK asked Levi, a giant linebacker who has never gone to a dance before. He answered her with this kiddie horsey puzzle. Awww.
For their day date, 28 of them (and eventually 38) headed out to Grandma's for a barbeque.
Then things got messy.

The Girls
After an hour-and-a-half mud fight, they decided to play mud volleyball.

Then it was time to get all proper in their girl scout uniforms for the dance.
They tracked down their boy scouts, danced, and then headed to Alyssa's for pool party/hot tubbing/movie-watching.
That's lil Kenz in-between those two monstrosities :)

Packing in the fun. It's their job.

Mia stalks me as I blog

Like a pack of wolves, the kids close in on me, breathing down my neck with their needs, or their sudden urgency for the computer, or just for the sport of it. THis is why I stay up until 1 a.m. THis is why I am not a morning person. It's all their fault.

Hmmmm. Rarely do I see the backside of my head. I don't think I'd recognize myself if I walked behind myself (try that). I thought my hair was poofier on top (glad it's not) and not so blond.  Just sayin'.

Lime Green Never Looked So Yummy

Grandma took Elle shopping at Wal-Mart for treats, but when Elle found this little number for $3, she squealed, "Sienna has that dress!"

I don't think the word "no" is in Grandma's vocabulary, thank goodness, so now they're "matchers."

Done posing. Gotcha ;)

Senior Night at the Soccer Field

The team's 12 Seniors were honored before kick-off of their last regular-season game.

The Fab Five with their momma's.

"I love Coach."

More favorite pics from the season...
Yep, just taking care of business.

Inappropriate touching?
And again with the inappropriate touching. Ouch.

The girl MK's "hugging" is on the national team. She scored twice within the first 13 minutes of L.P.'s game against Riverton, and we thought we were sunk for sure. By half it was tied, and by the end we were up 3-2. Definitely the most exciting game of the season. We go into the State tournament 1st in our region.

I love MK and Maris' attack!!!! faces :)
Ballet ... and lift

... and first position

The goalie's in red on the ground. Uh-oh.

Kenzie and Kim do their pre-game and half-time handshake (high-five, low-five, back-hand slap, shoulder clap, arm slide, fivers) ritual for good luck. Kenzie's and Kaitlyn's is more of a bro grip, one-hand bro hug back thump, two-hand bro hug thump, around, hip bump. You know, like that.  :)

Kenzie and Kaitlyn in their warm-ups.

So, back to Senior Night. Alyssa's dad brought his awesome sound system to play some music pre- and post-game to help the team get their groove on. And, wow, they really did, to the tune of 6-0. Maris' parents brought a trailer full of food to feed us all on the sidelines, and even Grandpa brought donuts for the team after the game to celebrate their win on Senior Night.

Aunt Megan tellin' Kenzie what's what. Friends, brothers and sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins all came out to support MK during the season.

On to the play-offs!
