Easter Weekend

(I just noticed my Catch-all Pantry Organization post had a glitch and didn't post half of the pictures. I fixed it, so the pics are there now.)

Spring yard work all day Saturday. Gotta love having sons!

Sunday (late, late) morning string maze to baskets

Then we paid Cy $10 to wear Getty's bunny suit and deliver a lemon cake to our neighbors...

M&M came over for dinner and to play Nertz. Getty was "too tired" to come 😢 We had Rob's favorite roast and mashers for dinner and Rice Krispie birds' nests for dessert.

Rob decided to do an Easter scavenger hunt for the girls' baskets instead of the string maze. The clues...
Answers:
a. fridge (by Cam's version of a double chocolate chip frappuccino)
b. 10x mirror in the master bathroom
c. zone toilet
d. freezer
e. Juliet balcony
f. salsa
g. massage oil in the spa room
h. Bananagrams
i. "Doh" Kitchenaid mixer
j. bathtub

The biggest news of the day was that Cy beat the unbeatable, our resident hero Rob, in ping pong best of 5, twice!!

So anyway, on to more important matters....

To celebrate the true meaning of Easter, Cy and Cam blessed and passed the sacrament to our family, and we watched the "Son of God" movie

I watched the scene where Christ was so weak He couldn't carry the cross, so the Roman soldiers had a man from the crowd help Him to Golgotha. For the first time I wondered what was significant about this scene and why was it included in the scriptures?

I remembered the part where Christ knelt in Gethsemane and pleaded, "Let this cup pass from me..." He walked over to the sleeping disciples and said, "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." I thought, was He talking about Himself?

That scene of Jesus unable to carry the cross alone illustrates how we, as mortals, are given weakness through our carnal bodies that even a pure and perfect spirit can't prevent. He understood Peter's denying Him three times after Peter vowed he would die for Him. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. He understood the disciples' sleeping even when He asked them to watch with Him. He understands our weaknesses and our making mistakes, because He too experienced having a mortal, carnal body. He understands that often our spirits are willing, but our flesh is weak. I'm so grateful I learned that concept in a more meaningful way today.

Cam pranks Cy with a cutout Rob had printed for a friend. Picture this... it's 5:00 a.m. The house is dark. You come walking out of your bedroom half asleep to use the bathroom when you see...

From my bed I heard a yell and then "BAM!"
[thanks, Cy, for the re-enactment]

A couple minutes later, Cy walked back past my bedroom door still shook 😱😂
