By early afternoon, we headed out to the dollar movies—"Puss in Boots" for Rob and the kids, and "Footloose" for me and M&M. Then JCW's for burgers and fries. We called Granny and Grandpa Doug to meet us back at our house for card games and Bananagrams, while the little kids watched "A Christmas Story." Then we held our traditional talent show...

Cam and Elle sang "Away in a Manger." (Cam's holding the robot he made with cups.)

Then Elle sang and danced to Justin Bieber's "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town."

Mia did some finger tutting...

And MK showed us her clever gifts for her friends that are mission-bound.

Getty and Cy did a nerdy dance and cracked themselves right up.

I love the look of pure glee on Cy's face :)

Elle took her back-up singing seriously throughout their performance.

Then we had devotional, and I read "The Story of Three Trees." The kids were ready to snuggle down. Elle and Cam cuddled up in Mia's hideout, and M&M got into sleeping bags and watched a movie on a dvd player. Getty and Cy cozied up in the fort they'd built earlier that week in Getty's bedroom especially for Christmas Eve. All was quiet by 9:30 p.m...
