Two of Elle's favorite friends in Getty's 6th grade class bought her a Barbie, a new puppy purse, glitter nail polishes and lip glosses while she was in the hospital. Later, Elle's best friend bought her an Easter bunny and fairy Barbie to keep in her bedroom.
Our former Riverton ward members put together a notebook full of loving, supportive letters.
The company Rob works for purchased a memorial paver stone at Hogle Zoo in Elle's name in the Oasis Plaza by the Carousel, "In Memory of Isabelle Marie Evans."
Aunt Britt took Cam and her girls, Emma and Avery, to the zoo to see it.
My Relief Society president created the "Elle" flower arrangement for her portfolio and made one as a centerpiece at each table at the funeral luncheon. She made me another one for Mother's Day. So beautiful.
Two girls in Getty's class made this sweet memory jar and brought it to Elle's grave.
Our ward Primary began a secret treat chain among the neighbors in Elle's honor to remember and continue to "knit our hearts together in unity and in love..."
The YW, along with one very talented quilter, in our ward put together these gorgeous quilts for MK and Mia with several photos of each of them with Elle printed on the front.
The funeral was the day before Valentine's, so a neighbor and my sister each thought to buy my kids Valentines to give out the next day.
A lady Rob works with stayed long after the grave dedication at the cemetery and gathered up some of the flowers on the casket spray, dried and treated them, and created this beautiful arrangement for us.
Elder Bednar visited us and Elle in the hospital and then sent us a letter upon hearing of Elle's passing.
One of the sweetest things that has come out of this is that little kids come up to me on their own in the hallway at church and hug me and wave to me during sacrament meeting.
I have received and continue to receive many many emails, texts, Facebook messages, lunch invitations, calls, and visits from concerned neighbors and friends.
I haven't mentioned everything (if you can believe that), but you get the idea... people are wonderful, amazing, inspiring.
And kids, pay it forward.
