(Wow! I'm catching up to real time now--posting events just a couple weeks late instead of Christmas in March 😂)
Rob asked me to make his favorite flank steak with snow peas and we all ended up eating on the deck in the awesome spring weather. We each told him something we love about him...
I love that he's such a good man and always has been
MK loves Rob's curiosity and willingness to explore other points of view
Getty loves Rob's perspective and respects it so much
Cy and Cam love how supportive and helpful Rob is with their interests
Just look at these cuties! 😍😍😍
Had to put in a plug for ol' Brigham 👆 😉. Getty says he's doing "great, great, great!" and skateboarding every day with his friends. And this is what I like to call dessert 👆 Looks like trash 😂 It's mint chocolate chip avocado ice cream (and spinach, vanilla protein powder, ice, dark chocolate chips, mint extract, and cream). Rob's not a big dessert guy, and a couple of the kids are getting more health-conscious, so it works.
... Rob expounding on why he doesn't need any presents.
...which is why we got him gifts he won't return: a new ping pong set and pickle ball rackets for the whole family 👍
I insert that in the middle of Rob's birthday post, because that is the reality of our life. In all actuality, several birthdays and holidays have been directly impacted by similar unnerving circumstances. We do our best to maintain some sense of normalcy for the rest of the family.
After dinner ping pong and Nertz tournaments
... and a family photo op, since Mia and Getty have made themselves scarce lately
Rob got a bedtime massage, and we called it a night!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our HERO!!
