Graduation x Four

Anna McKenzie Evans
Class of 2012

This is our baby 18 years ago...
I've got way too many photos of MK's high school graduation, so I'll have to post some of them another day.
MK's Seminary Graduation
The first seminary graduation was held in 1912. This year's graduates made up the centennial seminary class, so that's pretty cool.

Patrick Getty Evans
6th Grade Graduation, 2012
The multi-purpose room was packed as Getty walked the aisle.
He was awarded the school's Gold Academic Award and Mrs. Downs' Leadership Award.

Cole, Getty, and Parker M.

Left of Cole is Cody, who was awarded "Outstanding Student."

Getty told me, "If I'm ever invited to a graduation, I'm NOT going. They're so boring—even if it's your own!"

Propping a smile or picking a boog? Hmmmm, they are close...

Getty and his hero
With report cards, Mrs. D sent out an end-of-year newsletter that summed up their 6th grade classroom experience. Here are some excerpts:

"The Class that Loves to Chat...

This group of 35 could talk about anything and loved to debate everything.... Discussion was necessary to learn more about each other because we did end up being a confident, close-knit group.

The things I learned from the Jabber—
Bests and Worsts:
...Best Doodle Art—you must have been bored when creating Skinny Horse: Kian and Getty--get rid of the fat girlfriend horse!...
...Best Hamlet performance ever by Getty! First time everyone heard the play! Was he just acting like he was in love?...
...Most admirable love from classmates to Getty and Ireland! We will never forget your sorrow and strength...
...Best puppy love: Getty and Lauren, Cole and Brooke, Kian and Hannah? (Okay, I made that one up!)...
...Best Cousins: Sophia and Grace, St. Patrick and Ireland

BRAVO!
I WILL MISS....GETTY standing next to my desk and on his chair....

Just for you: Getty—You have been my favorite student this year. I will miss your spunky attitude and passion in all that you do. I am sure you will continue to do great things throughout your school career. Thanks for allowing me and the class to share in your love for Elle. There couldn't be another brother who loved his sister more. It was a great example to our class and to me about love & strength. Thanks for everything!"
