Mighty Mia

Alpine Days Track Meet: 11 schools competing. Mia goes for sprints instead of distance. She's speedy and has done well this year, except for the time she couldn't keep pace with her momentum and just about fell over frontways halfway down the track. Rob and MK thought the look on Mia's face as she went parallel to the pavement was too funny. Mia was ticked...until MK did her version of an instant replay, and Mia busted out laughing.
[Mia and Peyton.]

For the 100m, Mia took 1st in her heat and 2nd overall out of 30 8th grade girls.
For 200m, 2nd in her heat and 6th overall.
For long jump, she placed 2nd overall.
For 4 x 100, she, Peyton, Micah, and Bree broke the school record a fourth time and placed 1st overall. Nice!
Waiting to do long jump. Pictured with Bree and Micah
So track meets take awhile (seven hours for this particular meet), so the todds and I amused ourselves between events rolling down this steep grassy hill and finding broken tree branches to use as canes.
Thanks, Mia—so fun to watch you shine :)
