Cy's Extracurricular (2020 - 2021)

Sadie's with Lexi (gangsta)
Non-sponsored dances, COVID-style: smaller groupings off-campus, requiring tickets to limit numbers, and usually held in a parent's warehouse or venue. Highly frowned upon by the school administration.

Other gangs he's apparently involved with...

Florida trip with the boys (and Suttons). That's a shark ๐Ÿ˜ณ
Here's one of those stories that as a mom you're glad you never knew until it was over.... Met up with some random dudes on Clearwater beach who bet them $700 (seven hundred dollars!?!) they could beat anyone swimming out into the pitch black ocean around midnight to a reef about a hundred yards away and back. Little did they know Luke, who owns a pool, swam for CA, is in basketball shape, and perhaps most importantly, is highly motivated by money. Luke did the dirty work and he, Cy, Kyle, and Garrett all split the winnings. (How is that fair?)

Pref was ultimately vetoed by Coach Ross because of Covid concerns during basketball season.
However, Cy and his teammates were able to go on their day date to Top Golf
(Cy and Brielle)
... and then the next day to Salt Lake for pictures and dinner with their dates to Tsunami.

Cy and his friends came home during the dance and watched the McGregor vs Dustin Poirier pay-per- view fight and devoured about 80 of Rob's homemade wings.
(Clint, Cassie, and Jackson came over, too)

...then the guys met back up with their dates and headed to Classic skating til 2:00 a.m. But no skating per Coach Ross, ha. They made their own fun racing scooters and playing on the bouncy houses.

And then, of course there's Cy's basketball life...
So far, only parents and a few students (like 30) and cheerleaders are allowed to attend basketball games, and all are required to wear masks the whole time or games/season will be cancelled.

High-five for the ref, ha

Rob and I are just grateful spectators are allowed at all so we don't have to go undercover to watch his games (you know we would ๐Ÿ˜‰).

And, oh ya, he has school once in awhile. Kind of an afterthought. Mostly online, mostly not much required. Crazy Covid times.

Rob and Ren's Summerthings, 2020

Hike to Bell Canyon Waterfall with Rob

And we rode to Bridal Veil Falls

I think this was our hike up to Horsetail Falls when the water was scarce

We still get to watch MK play soccer ๐Ÿ‘

Old high school friends Tony and Chris sent me a selfie (old boyfriend on the left)

 They requested a selfie back.
(It goes no further! haha)

I remember telling my friend Linda years ago that my dad had told me I needed two bracelets—one engraved with the word "perspective" and the other with "balance." She had them made for me!

So this is Linda (on Marco Polo) from our old neighborhood๐Ÿ‘‡ We've been close friends ever since both our fathers died unexpectedly within weeks of each other the summer of 2000.
Linda's had alopecia for the last several years and has lost all of her thick, long, gorgeous dark hair plus her eyebrows and eyelashes. Her alopecia is long-lasting and may be permanent. I can't imagine how hard that would be, especially for a woman. So much of our femininity and identity can be wrapped up in our appearance. Mine is for sure ๐Ÿ˜œ But she keeps it all in perspective and has an awesome sense of humor. We've had some great spiritual discussions over the 2 decades we've been friends.

Side note—Marco Polo is my new favorite way to socialize (as an introvert ๐Ÿ˜‰). So far I regularly Polo Linda, Tonya, Michele, my mom, and Britt and Megan. Hoping to get Cassie on board, and my sister Jen and my two brothers.

Clint and Cassie ๐Ÿ‘†and Grant and Tonya are our regular weekend dinner dates.

I somehow talked Rob into getting some facial chemical peels with me. It was a screamin' deal, and he's prone to skin cancer, so I had him. Wish I had pics of him laid out on that spa bed getting pampered ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜

I've just loved spending time with him more and more. I feel like we're kind of molding into each other, and I've been noticing how compatible we've become over the years in even the little things. He's become more introverted and health-conscious like me; I've become more outdoorsy and money-saving like him. He'll stay up late with me, and I listen to more of his country music. We've learned to communicate so much better. Out of those many heart-wrenching, anxiety-filled years of family turmoil, has come a tenderness, a deeper respect, appreciation, and love for each other.

LUCY GIRL

My "adopted" grandbaby

A BonJovi fan! Just like Nana!

We do girl time when the boys go out to lunch. She always takes a tubby in my bath, I do her hair while she plays with my make up brushes, we get snacks, and then we go downstairs and get the baby dolls, blankies, cradle, and stroller out.

Love you, Lucy!!
