Father's Day, 2020

Rob opening presents thinking, "Whatever this is, it's going back to the store and the money is going back to the bank."

Constantly looking for ways to entertain
these guys... it's not hard πŸ˜‚

Right after this family photo we lined up for a race across the field. See me in the long purple dress on the far left? I pulled it up to my knees, took 2 steps, and fell face first on the ground πŸ˜†
I never know how I'll find Rob dead asleep...

Jen posted this old picture of our dad for Father's Day. My parents must have been visiting girls' camp with Jen since our family never went camping. Sure do miss my dad. He set my foundation of faith through his example. I hope I can pass on such a valuable legacy to my own kids πŸ’™

CUPRIZE!!

MK and Oveth are having a baby, much to their surprise. We are all making the best of it as MK and Oveth plan to co-parent, but we are beyond excited to meet the new baby!
MK didn't realize she was pregnant for about 3.5 months! She was so sick she thought she had cancer. She finally went to the doctor, who asked if she could be pregnant. She said no, so he ran other tests, which all came back normal. He declared it a mystery and gave her antacids hoping they would help her nausea.

She finally took a pregnancy test just to rule it out, and it came back negative.

On MK's 26th birthday, after unrelenting nausea and fatigue and with Mia's encouragement, MK bought 4 more pregnancy tests from the dollar store and took them all. All four came back positive.
MK still wasn't convinced.

She arranged for a blood test and made an OB appointment. The doctor's office would call with the test results.

But MK never heard back. Her scheduled appointment came around, so she went feeling like she was probably wasting everyone's time. Little did she know the doctor's office only called patients whose results were negative.

The doctor prepped her for an ultrasound, slid the probe over MK's belly and announced, "There's your baby."

MK could not stop staring at the monitor.

By the time we all found out, MK was 14 weeks pregnant and in her second trimester. She and Oveth could find out the gender of their baby within a few weeks, so we asked them if we could host a big gender reveal party....

Getty stayed with us for about a month and then moved to an apartment in Provo. He doesn't come around nearly as often as we'd like him to and spends most of his time with his girlfriend TiarΓ©. She even skateboards with him πŸ‘

WE LOVE YOU, GETTY!

Family on the Fourth

"Evans Volleyball" = beachball + water balloons. I should mention Cy has gained 35 lbs of muscle in 6 months and therefore never wears a shirt.

Winning team pelts losing team, every 3 points. The dang kids won.

BBQ at Hackings with the Hughes and Halvorsons—the Triple-H. I feel left out....

All the cousins, ages 18 down to 4, find a way to play together. Cy (18) and Caleb (4) play together the most... it's the cutest.

Playing Ghost in the Graveyard

I hope I never take this family time for granted.

Project: Organizing Important Papers

I decided to go through our file cabinets and transfer our important papers, passports, recipes, etc. to binders. I had a couple binders and 200 sheet protectors already, then I bought some dividers and some decorative paper from Hobby Lobby, and I started my project... at 10:00 p.m. ... big mistake.

So, this is my "Mom's Recipes" binder. I gathered all my favorite recipes from all my different sources, printed them or tore them out, and put them in sheet protectors.

This is my "Work Book." I keep it on my kitchen desk for bills, "to do" lists, projects I'm working on, etc.

This is the "Family File" for birth certificates, passports, school registrations, immunization cards, all that stuff.

I call this my "Legals" binder.

The last one is "Home." I keep small appliance warranty info and operating manuals in here, large appliance receipts and warranties, all the home maintenance companies we use, along with interior/exterior decor ideas.

So, ya I finished up at about 4:00 a.m., and I called it time well spent, haha
