Cowboy Sunday

What do a young buck and his two brothers do with a little down time on a Sunday evening?

They make a horse, of course...
... dress up in cowboy hats and Mom's boots...
... and talk with a twang.
Not sure what Getty's going for with that pose of his...

And what's this look? A little somethin' for the ladies? ... I'm in big trouble.

Elle, I wish ...

I could be your mom every day

Cam could play with you all summer and be your best friend

Cy and Getty could be your big brothers and watch out for you and tease you

M&M could be your big sisters and show you how to be a big girl

I wish Daddy could be your dad every day

I wish I could ...

do your hair

buy you that big Cinderella doll I saw at Christmas at Costco

take you to Mia's squad's clinic for future cheerleaders and watch you perform at halftime

I wish I could ...

take you on bike rides

dress you in colored jeans

fix you lunch every day

watch you play on Grandpa's waterslide in your swimsuit

hear you sing the Cody song

buy you the Pillow Pets you told Santa about

watch your face as the Primary kids sing happy birthday
to you

I wish I could ...

throw you a 5th birthday party with all your friends

see you ride the Alpine parade float with Mia and the cheerleaders and throw candy to the crowd

I wish I could...

take you to the Justin Bieber concert with Si's

take you to the beach

dress you up as Cruella DeVil for Halloween like I saw on Pintrest (if you'd let me :)

I wish I could ...

take you next door to "Spa Day" with the little girls in the neighborhood and be dazzled by your glittery make-up and tiny polished nails

I wish I could ...
dress you up for your best friend's pop star birthday party

say prayers with you at bedtime and kiss you goodnight on your forehead

One day.

One day we'll do even better.

Summer Snapshot

We're not really a parade family, so for the 4th of July, we all went out to breakfast, shopped at the kids' favorite outlet stores (currently Vans, Nike, and Quiksilver), and then swam in the afternoon. Here the kids are walking into the theater to see "Despicable Me." I think they love each other.
That night we watched the firework shows from our back balcony. We really didn't focus much on the reasons we celebrate Independence Day, which I'm realizing was a HUGE oversight, so that's what's up for our next Family Night.

That Friday M&M were both free, so I thought we'd better have a girls day out—lunch at Mia's favorite Costa Vida, a little shopping, and pedicures after I warned MK they would have to touch her FEET. Mia couldn't stop laughing because her feet are ticklish.
Last week was six days and five nights of Scout Camp. Getty never took that shirt off. For six days. And five nights. I'm just glad I didn't have to witness it.

And here he is after a change of clothes getting in the car to get his long board helmet :/
Cam was invited "backstage" to Sienna's pop star birthday party.
Those poses are all him :)

So far, July is awesome!

Cheer in Disney and Summer Camp

Throwback to March.

Futuristic night at Summer Cheer Camp
Mia's Secret Sister got her 2 Vans tees, Sour Patch Kids, Chex Mix Muddy Buddies, and spearmint gum packs. She knows Mia well.

Mia also brought home her favorite Flavor Blasted Xtra Cheddar Goldfish and about 8 extra packs of G Series Energy Chews that kept her going for her 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. cheer schedule. (I should try those!)
She said she loved camp this year, mostly because she knew what to expect from last year. Funny how big a difference expectations can make.
