CamBam

Snowies with cousins. Bentley's face tho :)

Year-end square dance at school.
She's not that into it, haha

Year-end county report

Daggett county is known for its hunting grounds, so Cam made a peekaboo hunting game that he controlled with craft sticks and supplied his visitors with Nerf guns
(The sign on the mountain peak:
"No Diamonds in here!")

Cam's into photographing animals and nature...

Earned his religious knot

Rob's church callings are Stake Indexing director and Webelos leader for Cam's troop—guess which calling is his favorite :)

Cam signed up to sing and play "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" for his class talent show. Here he's doing a practice performance for the family... (Cy takes his job seriously, hahahaha)

Little boys with those high-pitched voices

Love it

First piano recital, the "Star Wars" theme

Nice, Cy...

This summer, Cam went to the LP Basketball Camp for the first time. All that week I asked, "How'd it go?"

Always the same answer, "Soooo bad" (lol)
On the last day I noticed he had on a new LP t-shirt. "How'd it go today?"

"Okay."

"How'd you get that shirt?"

"Our team won the championship."

"...you were so bad your team won the championship?..."

1. So hard on himself
2. Compares himself to Cy

His invisible pantry switch art

Cam also tried out (2) week-long acting camps this summer. This was the Disney camp performance of Cinderella, where he played himself, otherwise known as Prince Charming ;)
Here he is prompting the other actors to come stand on their marks, haha...

Waltzing and singing to Cinderella at the ball...

Then Harry Potter camp with Ryan

Webelos Camp. Lost his cubscout shirt weeks ago.
Oh well! last of our boys anyway....

Arrow of Light ceremony and graduating from Webelos (and wearing Cy's boyscout shirt :)

Over and out Cubscout!

"...little children do have words given unto them many times, which confound the wise and the learned." —Alma 32:23

I was at lunch with a friend, and she started talking about the day of Elle's accident. Cam (who was 6-years-old at the time) had been playing with her son at their home that day. She told me some details I'd never heard before.

When they left the scene of the accident, no one knew the extent of Elle's injuries, and my friend had thought Elle would be alright and had assured Cam that everything was going to be fine. But on the brief ride away from the accident, Cam looked out the car window and said, "Well, I guess there's only 5 of us now."

(2012)

My friend had Cam sleep at her house that night. In the early morning, Rob had called to tell her Elle wasn't doing well and to ask her to take Cam to our home, so the kids could meet us at the hospital. When she woke Cam, he said he'd had a dream that Elle was okay and that she was coming home.

As I see it now, Elle was okay, and she was going home.

Four years later and as young as he was at the time, Cam still remembers her and tells me things I had forgotten like, how they would take the gallon-sized Tang powder and two spoons out to the back deck and shovel that orange sugar down their throats and quick put it back before I caught on.

He told me this week that he and Elle used to spray my asthma inhaler into the air like "perfume."

Oh how I miss that blondie of ours.
