Cy's Region Championship and Banquet

With 2.3 seconds to go in the half of the championship game, Cy called for the ball and then launched a shot from half court

(Rob printed this just in case πŸ˜‰)

(I video-ed his award presentation but can't figure out how to upload it yet. I'll add it later.)

This kid always gives us plenty to brag about! (and so does the cute shorty at my side)

Miscellaneous Mia

Mia's Vision Board, 2018
(She's obsessed with "Jack" [center pic] on "This Is Us")

Not a scratch on MiaπŸ™, but...
Third car accident in (two years). Second totalled car.
Yes, our insurance dropped us.

Rob's paying Mia to train Cy
at the gym all summer.

She's hardcore πŸ’ͺ

And signed me up for a boxing class πŸ˜…

Organizing my file cabinets for the first time in like
10 years, I came across this throwback to Mia's
9th grade summer with MK...
haha πŸ‘†

Cousins, neighbor kids, and Cam, Cy and Elle πŸ’–πŸ‘† in our unfinished basement

I love this pic. Cy was just the cutest with Elle 😍 (πŸ‘‡She took it all in stride, haha)

Mia's favorite NBA player is back in
town for a few days...

Minor surgery for this little girl

St. Patrick's Day and Nowruz, 2018

Tried out these Lucky Charms treats, but Getty had a better idea—Fruity Pebbles treats. Next year!

Since one of Rob's favorite hobbies is to grocery shop (really), I asked him to stop on his way home from work and grab some green smoothies and Pringles for the kids for St. Patrick's. I was thinking along the lines of their favorite...

and individual size smoothies, like this...

Rob brought home the bulk size smoothie for them to share to save a little change. No biggie, should've seen that coming. It's Rob, right?
As for the Veggie Chips, he says he thought I wanted actual green chips. Hmmm, btw how's that Paleo diet going? haha

Nowruz, 2018
Mahdi and Reza invited us to the annual Nowruz party in Salt Lake. The men and women don't mingle and sit separately on opposite sides of the room, so Rob, Mahdi, Reza, and Cam sat together, and I sat alone for most of the party until MK showed up. But the women were friendly to me and wanted to make sure I felt comfortable.
The program started with a few speakers, who spoke mostly in Farsi. I was surprised that most everyone visited and talked with each other so loudly that you could barely hear the speaker. Mahdi said that's normal for the culture.
Then the men and women were invited to pray in another room, and a few left the room. When they returned, the boys and men danced. There'sπŸ‘‡ our friend Rohoolah
The men are asked to not take pictures of the women's side (like Rob just did πŸ‘†—oops)

They served a delicious dinner of kabuli palaw, chicken curry, and rice, and black tea and cans of Coke.
MK and I got to talk to Reza and Mahdi only briefly as we were leaving.
So interesting. I love having the chance to take a peek into another culture.

MK's New Home!

And MK's most regular visitor, Oveth

MK even arranged to have a new kitchen finished so she could rent out the basement, but it rented before I got a pic of the new kitchen part...

Then she and Mia decorated...

I love that those two are best friends,
even when they live together, ha

So proud of our bonified home owner!
