We were the smallest team in the league by far, with only one X-man. We lost our first game 21–0, with 22 penalties. After that game, Coach White walked out to the parking lot and threw up.
That was the last game we would lose all season.
At the awards night, Coach asked the boys, "What do we always say?" In unison, they yelled, "Hit, block, tackle!" He said in football and in life, if they'll stick to the fundamentals, they'll succeed. Hit challenges head on. Block bad influences and negativity from your life. And tackle your dreams. They won the championship 21–14 with zero penalties.
Getty was awarded "Team Leader." Coach said Getty was the fastest at try-outs, and with a name like Getty, he had to have him on his team :)
