During breaks in Cy's basketball games,
"Come guard me, Dad"

Mama Monday nights have not been consistent lately because of Cy's basketball game schedule and Getty's volleyball, so we decided we'd better grab him from school and go to lunch.

Cam and I went to a local production of Peter Pan, which was directed by our old friend Jessa!

Here's Jessa with Sonny and MK way back when we lived across the street.

Wow, that director did an awesome job!

One night I made a new recipe, Mediterranean Meatball pitas. Cam wanted Mia's leftover Mac & Cheese instead (go figure :) I reheated it in the microwave but took it out late. Awhile later, I found this...

Epic "Battle of the Books!" Introducing...
team Question Marks!

Beginning in December, competitors are given a list of 20 books to read. They choose a team of 5 players and divide the books up with some overlap. Competition begins March 23rd.
On Game Days, two teams at a time compete against each other by answering 24 alternating questions (12 each) about details and particulars in those 20 books. The team confers and then the spokesperson (Cam in our case) must answer with the correct book title and author. An incorrect answer gives the other team an opportunity to steal for bonus points. Five of the books had a mouse as a character, and two books were about World War II, so keeping them straight was challenging.

Day 2: Quarter Finals

And then on to the finals. The 1st and 2nd grades were invited to watch.

Question Marks vs. Book Predators

There were two on Book Predators wearing glasses and looking smart, haha I was worried....

Book Predators lost...

All these boys happen to live on our same street

Day 3: Winners face the Teachers in an Assembly in front of 3rd through 6th grades and receive their 1st place trophies for 3rd/4th grades.

I snuck backstage for some pics...

...ultimately, team Question Marks lost by one question. They did awesome!

Cy made sure I picked him up from school during his lunch so he could watch Cam, too.

One of our kids likes to read!!!
